Minds Pass Minds If They Be Occupied, a piece from my series I Believe in Ghosts, is exhibiting in True North at di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art in Napa, California.
True North is a juried exhibition surveying talent from San Francisco's North Bay. The collection of work was juried by Chester Arnold, Ashwini Bhat, and Chandra Cerrito and is open to the public from December 16 through January 22, 2023.
Coming soon to the midwest is an opportunity to see Familiar and Two Fawns which were selected to be a part of Stories From My Childhood, a nationally juried exhibition at the Northern Illinois University Art Museum. This is sure to be a fascinating exhibition that will feature "stories of transformative or impactful events from artists' preteen years via original works of art and accompanying text."
The opening reception will be held on Thursday, December 1st from 4:30 to 7:00pm CST. More details here.
We Hunt the Doe was selected to be a part of Portrait International Juried Exhibition at the Li Tang Gallery which opens November 4th. I'm excited to share this exhibition because this collection of work is presented through a virtual gallery space and is geographically accessible to all! The works are viewable in a webpage format or as a "walkable" 3D virtual gallery. Note: The 3D gallery works best on Firefox and Google Chrome.
I'm pleased to present two newly completed animal portraits commissioned for a private collection. Prints available for purchase here.
Volume 15 of Friend of the Artist, a publication dedicated to elevating the work of emerging artists from around the world, is featuring work from my series I Believe in Ghosts. This is a really terrific book to acquire if you're interested in exposing yourself to an array of contemporary art. The book features 50 artists from 13 countries who work in various mediums and showcases a diversity of aesthetics and ideas. Learn more and order a copy here.
I'm teaming up with Michelle Hoting (jewelry artist), and Bill Theis (photographer) for Art at the Source: a self-guided county-wide open studio tour. We're showing our work together for two weekends at Michelle's studio in Santa Rosa. We'll be providing pleasant refreshments and adhering to the county and state Covid-19 safety guidelines. At this time, masks are not required, but are welcome.
I'll be showing a variety of landscapes and still lifes, as well as paintings and prints from my animal portrait series. I am particularly chuffed to be debuting my newest animal portrait, Tiger, who was inspired by my childhood dream to grow up to be a Tiger and made to celebrate this year of the Tiger. Enjoy a virtual walkthrough of the space here.
